Rejoice! Rejoice, believers and let your light appear…”

Advent is the season of hopeful waiting, a season of preparation for the Christ who comes and dwells with us and in us. That sense of hopeful waiting seems to constantly be the message I want to share with our crisis and terror-stricken world.

“Rejoice! rejoice, believers” expresses the joy for which we wait, even in the darkness. Like maidens who await the bridegroom, these maidens have rekindled the lamps of their souls, revealing their faithful longing and hopeful waiting for the One who is coming.
