Life Is An Art
Prelude to conversation…
Life is an art.
Certainly there are aspects of life which are explained by science … but the most important things of life are not explained…but rather experienced.
To live life is an art.
When the first pioneers crossed the Appalachian Mountains there were no trails…so signs pointing out the directions, no scientific research to assist them on their way. Every moment of life was an adventure. For every moment of life there was no game plan… only wide open spaces which the pioneers explored/discovered/experienced more as an art form than a textbook.
COVID 19 reminds us that life is as much art as science.
Since we have never come this way before…when we crossed over into the territory of COVID 19 there were no text books, or sign posts, or how-tos. There was the daily adventure of discovery, exploration, and experiencing life… so that we could begin to make some sense of it. Down the road…there will be a scientific book written so that the next time there will be some science to apply to our experience.
But right now… like the first pioneers… we have not even made it past the Mississippi. Every day is an adventure into the unknown. Every day we realize again that life is an art…not an exact science. We live in awe of what those pioneers accomplished.
Right now we live in gratitude to all the pioneers who are leading us through the territory of COVID 19. Daily their art is an inspiration to us… and a sign, a hope of life.
As we live this adventure of life… may our art be life-giving and hope-filled.
God is with us! Life is an adventure! Life is an art!
May it be so!
