Links for Community Service and to Help Others

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.  Ephesians 2:10

Don’t feel you can safely go out, but want to help?  Your donation can make a big difference.  Call agencies like Meals on Wheels, Catholic Charities, Open Door Mission, or other agencies that help those in need and make a monetary donation.  Every little bit helps.

Continue to call and check on friends and neighbors.  As COVID restrictions continue, feelings of isolation, the inability to get out, or the fear of getting out, can weigh heavily.  Find out how others are doing physically and mentally.  If the church can help, please call 585-346-3511.

How you can help others during the COVID-19 crisis:

Although NY is reopening, there are many who do not feel comfortable leaving the safety and security of their home.  Please reach out to those in some way.

  • Call someone.  Yes, actually call, use your voice rather than text.
  • Offer to do a grocery run, especially for your elderly friends, neighbors or those with compromised immune systems.  Arrange a system to drop the groceries at the door.
  • Ask others if there is anything you can pray for.
  • Send a handwritten note.
  • People will still need food items from the food pantry.  Find a way to make contributions.

Suggestion from Sue C.  Responding in kindness to help those whose livelihood is impacted by our current situation – send a check for the normal amount we pay someone who provides services to us. For instance, our hairdresser or massage therapist. Just one small way to help someone whose livelihood has been impacted by the current situation.
