Come With Me and Dance
Prelude to conversation…
It’s August and… You should be dancing… Yeah. The Bee Gees sang it but August proclaims it.
It is a good time for dancing! celebrating! moving! exhilarating! just enjoying life!
August is a month which seems to be right for dancing.
But then any month is right for dancing. Dancing is joy and delight.
When Phil Collins invites us to Dance into the light there is a celebration going on. Just watch the video. Dancing into the light invites us all to join in. Dancing is for community… togetherness…sharing.
When Leanne Womack sings I hope you dance she is inviting us to dance in the midst of life in all its complexities. When experiencing joy…dance. When experiencing doubt…dance. When experiencing COVID times…dance. And many folks are…just look on the computer.
Dancing is a statement of faith and hope.
Can I have this dance? Anne Murray sings…and we understand that to dance is a commitment of trust and time. To dance in this way is to dance for the long-haul. Dancing is fun … and it is serious business.
Dancing must be important… it is mentioned a lot! So many songs mention it!
So if it is important…perhaps we should dance more.
Won’t it be great if everybody could sing and dance with us? There was a video once of someone dancing all around the world. Every place the dancer went…dancing would break out and this brought together the whole world. I guess that’s what is going on now… as everyone seems to be posting moments of dancing.
So…today, tomorrow and always…let us be dancing. Just saying it seems to lift our spirits.
Just dancing seems to bring us together. There are certainly troubles in the world. But in the midst of our struggles to solve those troubles…bring justice…offer hope…let us be dancing…
Yeah!
Come with me now and dance… dance this journey of life
