Team Escapes Before the Snow Storm
The Lord has directed the path allowing the mission team to fly out before the snow storm arriving in San Juan with warm sunshine and the temperature at 83 degrees. The team was met by a local staff member. After retrieving our luggage, we were met by a pickup (to carry most of the luggage) and two 15 passenger vans. The drive from San Juan to the south side of the island to Patillas Camp, which is on the shore.
At the camp them women are housed in a dormitory above the dining area , the men in a dorm in an adjacent building. After a tasty meal of rice and beans, pork, and plantains (a type of cooked banana) we had a team meeting followed by devotions led by Pastor Hoyt. Since most everyone has had a very long day, we are looking forward to a restful night, windows open with a nice sea breeze. (sorry NY!
Plans for tomorrow include church – in Spanish.
